The reality behind it is rather the opposite and tap water is maintained under very strict rules than that of bottled water. This makes it even safer to use tap water than bottled water. Should we also ban every other bottled liquid, including laundry detergent, liquid soap, and other products that come in plastic bottles? The obvious answer is no, we won’t ban those products.

Plastic water bottles should be banned. For eight glasses of the same quality water as bottled it would only cost $0.49 per year for tap water compared to $1,400 of bottled water. It is estimated that 40% of all bottled water actually comes from the tap.

Many people argue that the plastic used to house bottled water is contributing to global warming because the industry is creating a big carbon impact not only in creating the bottles, but also in how recyclable they are after use.
